THE ARTIST
Hi, I’m Shelbi.
I’m an oil painter, wife, and mom of two, and art has been part of my life for as long as I can remember.
My faith in Jesus Christ has become a natural part of what I paint. I’m especially drawn to the feelings that can be hard to put into words — comfort, hope, being guided, and those quiet reminders that He is near.

A LITTLE MORE ABOUT ME
Art and faith were both part of the home I grew up in.
I grew up around a lot of creativity. My dad has always been artistic and inventive, and I think being around that naturally shaped the way I saw the world and the things I wanted to make.
My mom has always had a deep spiritual influence on me, and really, both of my parents have been examples of faith in my life. Looking back, I can see how creativity and faith became such natural parts of who I am.
I earned my Bachelor’s degree from Dixie State University and had the opportunity to study under religious artist Del Parson. That training helped me grow technically, while my family, my faith, and my own experiences with Christ continue to shape the heart behind my work.
Art and faith are still things I share closely with my family today. We talk about paintings, ideas, scriptures, and the things that inspire us. I love that the people closest to me are part of this part of my life too.
More than anything, I want to create paintings that are beautiful to live with but also carry something deeper — something that makes you pause, feel, remember, or turn your thoughts toward Christ.
