Inspired by Isaiah 66:13, Held in Grace was painted around the feeling of being completely comforted and held.
The closeness between Mary and the child Jesus became a way for me to paint something we often understand more through feeling than words — tenderness, safety, and the quiet assurance that we are not alone.
“As one whom his mother comforteth, so will I comfort you.”
I hope it becomes the kind of artwork you notice differently depending on the day — sometimes simply beautiful, and sometimes exactly the reminder you needed.
